Going in Blind Video Game Club: Wolverine's Madripoor Chapter Is Brutal, Visceral, and Full of Comic History
What we really thought about the Sentinel boss fight...

Welcome back to the Going in Blind Video Game Club! Caboose and I are continuing our journey through Marvel's Wolverine, and in this episode we're digging into the Madripoor section of the game. If you haven't played through this part yet, consider this your warning: we go deep into spoiler territory, so finish the section first and then come back and join us.
Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game and a standalone entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, sharing continuity with those titles while telling its own self-contained story. Players control Logan/Wolverine in close-quarters combat, using his adamantium claws against enemies drawn from the X-Men comic book mythology.
This is one of those chapters of the game that really got us talking. The action ramps up in a big way, and by this point in the story your Wolverine has enough upgrades and techniques that the combat genuinely starts to sing. We had a blast breaking down the fight sequences, the brutal combat cinematics, and a few moments that had us both grinning like kids. When this game nails the visceral, rated R side of Wolverine, it really nails it.
As always, Caboose brings the comic book knowledge, and this section gave him plenty to work with. We get into the history behind some of the characters and locations that show up, what the game pulls directly from the comics, and where longtime Wolverine readers will spot some deep cuts. Whether you know every Frank Miller run by heart or you're coming in completely blind like me, there's something here for you.

Next week we're heading to Japan, which is an even bigger chunk of the game, so if you’re following along as long as you have played up to the part where you meet up with Walter then that’s where we’ll talk up to. Enjoy the episode and we’ll see you in the next episode!
