Wolverine takes off for the Great White North!
Here's the next chapter of Going in Blind: Video Game Club for Marvel's Wolverine!

In Episode 2 of Going in Blind Video Game Club: Marvel’s Wolverine, Caboose and I turn our attention to the Canada chapter of Marvel’s Wolverine. As two Canadians discussing one of Marvel’s most famous Canadian heroes, we explore how the setting celebrates Logan’s roots and gives this part of the game a strong sense of place.
Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game and a standalone entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, sharing continuity with those titles while telling its own self-contained story. Players control Logan/Wolverine in close-quarters combat, using his adamantium claws against enemies drawn from the X-Men comic book mythology.
What stood out most to me was the chapter’s quieter, character-driven storytelling. It takes time to explore Logan’s personality, history, and relationships, revealing more of the person behind the claws. I appreciated those slower moments, while Caboose was more cautious about how the game works within comic canon or bends it in a way that changes some of the characters' origins.
We also dig into the gameplay, including its large-scale action, environmental storytelling, and new combat elements. While some of the set pieces are really cool and fun, we both agree that the stealth mechanics could be better. He’s an alpha predator; stealth should be one of his greatest strengths, but this game’s stealth feels a bit basic in design and is a missed opportunity to evolve it further.
Overall, the Canada chapter gave us plenty to discuss: meaningful character development, deep-cut Marvel references, explosive action, and a few creative decisions that left us divided. For me, its focus on story and character made it one of the game’s strongest sections so far.
