Introducing Going in Blind: Video Game Club
A new series where we go in blind to a game and discover it together!
I’m excited to announce a brand new series for everyone who follows or subscribes to Going in Blind on player.gg: Going in Blind: Video Game Club.
This monthly, book club-style series will choose one game and explore it in depth, from its story, themes, and characters to its gameplay and everything we thought along the way.
Our first game is Marvel’s Wolverine
Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game and a standalone entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, sharing continuity with those titles while telling its own self-contained story. Players control Logan/Wolverine in close-quarters combat, using his adamantium claws against enemies drawn from the X-Men comic book mythology.
For our first Video Game Club, we are starting with Marvel’s Wolverine. I’ll be joined by Eren, also known as Caboose, a superhero expert who has covered superhero games on his channel for the past 13 years, beginning with Batman: Arkham Origins.
Superhero games mean a lot to him personally, and we are both looking forward to diving into every aspect of Marvel’s Wolverine. Together, we will explore whether Insomniac has captured everything that makes Wolverine who he is, including the character’s rich history, the places he's been, the villains he's fought, and the other characters he's encountered.
I’m a Wolverine fan, but I’m not a deep Wolverine expert, so I’ll be relying on Caboose as my guide to all things Logan. We’ll dig into Wolverine’s history, the people he interacts with, and the many Easter eggs Insomniac may include from Marvel’s past.
Play along with us
The series launches on September 22, one week after the game’s release. That gives you time to pick up the game at launch, play through it, and join us for a full, spoiler-filled discussion.
Please do not watch or read the series until you have played Marvel’s Wolverine. We want to give everyone enough time to experience the game before we jump into the details together.
